Picture The anarchist manifesto of the "Unabomber" sandwiched between glossy photos of naked women in Penthouse magazine. It may sound like a bizarre pairing, but Penthouse Publisher Bob Guccione thinks it might happen. He said Thursday he may have gotten a nibble from the Unabomber on his offer to publish the elusive terrorist's lengthy manifesto.

"We've had several phone calls," Guccione said. "Among them, there was one that we all think sounded somewhat more legitimate. Several things convinced us that this is how a person like that would act."

He refused to disclose details of the conversation with the alleged Unabomber, believed to be responsible for 16 bombings over 17 years that have killed three people and injured 23. But Guccione said he expects further communication and has devised a way of determining the caller's authenticity.
